Lech Janerka
"Lech Janerka appeared on the Polish rock scene in the late 70’s. With his wife - Bożena Janerka – he performed at festivals of student songs. In 1979 he founded the band Klaus Mitffoch and released only one record with them. The album, which was self titled, is considered the most important record in the history of Polish pop.
The album’s intensity of expression is as strong as that of punk rock but the range of melody and harmony is far broader. The lyrics were connected to the realities of The People’s Republic of Poland in the 1980’s. The album is full of veiled critiques of the regime and inspiration to resist. Music magazine polled journalists who rated it the best album in 30 years. The readers of Only Rock magazine voted it the best album of the 80’s.
After the band’s breakup in 1986, Janerka released a solo album titled Underwater History. Calmer musicaly and lyricaly, the album received much critical success. Almost all the songs made the Polish hit lists, including „Konstytucje”, „Niewole”, „Ta zabawa nie jest dla dziewczynek”)."(alchemia.com.pl)
